How do I start using VideoPhone?

First of all you need the software which can be downloaded, always up to date to the latest version, directly from HERE.
If you have any problem using videophone, first of all make sure you are using the latest version of this software. Registering your personal information is the first step to start using Videophone after you downloaded and installed it. After registering you will receive your personal Videophone number.

How do I install Videophone?

After downloading the software directly form the web site or from the original Videophone Cd, please choose the "install" option on the window on your computer.

What do I need to use Videophone?

All computers built in the last 4/5 years can run Videophone software. You will be in the need to have windows operating system, a cd rom player to install the web cam drivers, a audio adapter (usually on the motherboard), graphic board with at least 16 mb ram, a webcam, a microphone (on the webcam or an external one) speakers or headphones with microphone. Headphones with microphones give you the best performance and are easier to use.

Does Videophone work with Mac?

For the time being Videophone cannot be used on Mac computer nor on OS operating system. If you are a Mac computer user, please visit our web site www.videophone4g.com to check for all the latest releases and upgrades.

During the installation process I had some problems how do I solve them?

Web cam and headphones with microphone, how to use them.

Please connect the webcam to the USB port. Make sure you have installed all the drivers correctly and follow all the instructions given from your webcam manufacturer. Remember, VideoPhone works with all the webcams on the market but we guarantee thee best performances with our certified products.
All computers have separated sockets, one for the webcam another for the microphones and another one for the headphones or speakers. How do I get my VideoPhone number?

To use the VideoPhone you need to get a VideoPhone number, which is freely assigned during the registration process, by clicking on "get you VPN" in the program access panel or directly from HERE.

After registering I cannot access the program.

After the registration, the system automatically sends you a confirmation e-mail to your account, please complete the registration confirming the information on the e-mail by clicking on "Confirm Registration". Now you can access the program with your VPN and Password.

How do I call with VideoPhone?

There are different ways to make a call:

·   Directly from the VideoPhone numeric board, dialling the number of the person you wish to call and then click on the "Green" button on the left to connect.

·   Double click on the name of the person you wish to call directly from the telephone book (contact list) or clicking on the "search" button.

·   Directly dialing The number of the person you wish to call on the "Viewer" of your VideoPhone and then click on the "Call" button.

I dialed a number but I did not get any answer.

  • Please make sure the user you are trying to call is always "Online" (pale green), in all other cases you won’t be connected, the user you call will only receive a message, tracing your call. It can also be possible that the user is "Online" but not willing to answer to your call.

  • Check your internet connection

  • Check your modem cables

  • Check if the dialled number is correct

How do I answer to a call on VideoPhone?

If someone is calling you, you will hear a ringing sound and your VideoPhone console will open on your desktop. In its Viewer will be shown the name or the number of the person who is calling you. You can accept the call by clicking on the "Green" button on your console. As soon as you accept the call you will be able to talk and see the person who called you. You can also deny the call simply leaving the VideoPhone ringing or by clicking the "Red" button on your console.

How do I send a message through VideoPhone chat?

VideoPhone offers you a free quick text chat. To send a text message to a user simply clicking on the name of the person on your contact list and then with the right button of the mouse select "Send message". The chat window will open and you will type your message and then click on "Send". If the user is online you will receive an immediate answer, otherwise you should wait.

File sending through VideoPhone, is it possible?

Of course you can! VideoPhone allows you to send file and picture through its chat. When open the text chat (as above described) you will find "Send File". Click on it and you will be asked on what file you want to send, select the file and then click on "Ok". To confirm, please click on "Send", your file will be delivered to the chosen user.

How do I add or search a contact to my list?

If I know the VideoPhone number of the person I want to add to my list, the following step must be done:

1.     Open the contact list

2.     Click on "Search and Add users" and the search window will open

3.     Dial the number of the person I want to add to my contact

4.     Click "OK"

5.     If the number I dialed is correct the user name will appear on the following window

6.     Select the user

7.     Click on "Add User" button


If I do not know the VideoPhone number of the person I want to add to my contact list and I only know his/her name or surname or the age or the address, I need to proceed as follows:

1.     Open the contact list

2.     Click on "Search and Add Users" and the search window will open

3.     Dial the name of the person I want to add to my contact list

4.     Click "OK"

5.     If the name is present on the VideoPhone list , all the users with that name will be listed

6.     Select the user I want to add

7.     Click on "Add User" button


If I do not get the information desired, point number 5, I can chose the "Advanced search" as follows:

1.     Click on "Advanced search"

2.     Fill in the information I am looking for

3.     Click on "Search"

4.     Check for the results


You need to remind that some users can ask not to be shown on the public lists. In this case they will not be listed in your search even if they are VideoPhone users. In this case you need to get their correct VPN directly from them.

How come some users are listed as "Not Online" when I know they actually are online?

As the  VideoPhone user information are not centrally stored, some minutes may occur before the user will be visible as online.
Usually the upgrade is instantaneous or you can manually click on "Refresh" in the contact list

May I access to the VideoPhone from another computer?

Of course! You can access with your VideoPhone number from any computer, all over the world. You only need to have the VideoPhone software installed in the computer.

Will my contact list be kept?

You can access the VideoPhone from all computers all over the world and your contact list will automatically loaded, no manual operation is needed. This is a very important option that VideoPhone offers you, heling you with your work and avoiding any loss of your personal contacts.

How do I change my VideoPhone name?

It is possible to change your information by entering the "Reserved Area".
On the Videophone4g.com site you will find the "Reserved Area", enter your VPN and password then click on "enter". Your reserved area will be shown with all your personal details. Now it will be possible to modify or delete them.
Please remember that changes are made in real time but can be changed anytime if any mistakes are made.

How do I change my password?

If you want to change your password you need to connect to the videophone4g web site and enter your reserved area or private area, typing your videophone password and then click "enter". Your personal page will be shown. Click on "proceed" to scroll the page. You will find the page where you will be asked for your password. Now you can type your new password and confirm it. We recommend to write your password and keep it in a safe place.

How do I change my e-mail address on my profile?

If you want to change your e-mail address you need to connect to the videophone4g web site and enter your reserved area or private area, typing your videophone password and then click "enter". Your personal page will be shown. Click on "Modify Profile" and you will find the page where you can modify your e-mail address.

How do I remove my profile from VideoPhone?

If you want to remove your profile from VideoPhone you need to connect to the videophone4g web site and enter your "private area", typing your videophone password and then click "enter". Your private area with all your personal details will be shown. Click on "Profile removing". Please remember that once you confirmed your deletion you won’t be able to use Videophone again. You will be in the need of registering again your VideoPhone and get a new VP number. Please remember to contact all your friends and tell them your VPN has been changed.

How do I remove VideoPhone from my computer?

To remove VideoPhone from your computer please act as follows:
Start>Programs>VideoPhone>Uninstaller.
Please remember that to use VideoPhone again you will be in the need of installing the program again.

An error occurred while making a VideoPhone call. What shall I do?

In some rare cases a calling error may occur it can depend on your system configuration and on the network configuration of the person you are trying to call. First of all check your Firewall configuration and your internet connection and please make sure the person you have called has done the same. Usually, Firewall regulations are very simple.

I would like to get a VideoPhone nickname. How do I get it?

You need to register yourself as new user. You should reinstall ViodeoPhone and subscribe a new account. Following the "new user registration" instructions, a new videophone number will be assigned to you and you can also change your nickname. Please remember that your previous vpn will be always assigned to you unless you decide to delete the "old" registration.

My internet connection is a modem one, is it possible to run Videophone?

You can run Videophone with any kind of internet connection, also with a 33.6 kpbs modem. However, when using a 33.6 kbps modem, you could experience a non fluent image or some audio interruptions. This does not depend on Videophone but on a slow internet connection.

May I use other programs, for example, Windows Messenger to connect to the Videophone network?

You cannot do it. We structured VideoPhone with a reserved highly performing technology.

May I send instant messages, via VideoPhone, to my friends using ICQ/YAHOO/MSN?

VideoPhone is not compatible with those applications but it could be in the future.

I use a broad band connection but some VideoPhone calls are slow and low quality ones.

This can happen if only one user has a broad band connection, please note that the connection speed can be checked on the band indicator on the bottom right on VideoPhone.

How do I pay to get credit?

It is possible to use different payment methods to get VideoPhone credits.

How long can I use my Videophone credits?

VIDEOPhone reserves the right to suspend the residual credit after 180 days of inactivity. If within 180 days you have not used any credit, E.P. has the faculty to annul your account.

 
 
 

Can I talk to more than one person at one time?

Of course you can! With Videophone you can talk up to 5 persons at once. Just click on "MULTI" button on your VideoPhone to add people to the call.

Can I record a video and then watch it again?

Sure! With VideoPhone you can record a video and then send it to you friends. Just click on "VIDEO MSG" on you VideoPhone. Remember each message cannot last more than 2,5 minutes. But you can send as many videos you want!

Video answering machine is free for the first 30 days from installation. After 30 days you can activate the service at 0, 99 euro at month.

Prices I see on the list are the ones real paid or other costs are to be added?

VIDEOPhone proposes Clear prices. All the indicated prices are ALL INCLUSIVE. You ONLY pay what’s indicated and nothing more. Other VOIP services propose unclear prices and then they add taxes and therefore you pay more. With VIDEOPhone all he is clear and easy! It is IMPORTANT to know that VIdeoPhone is not intended to support emergency calls. For Emergency calls use a landlines or mobile phones.

It’s easy. Click on the "SMS" button on your Videophone. In the SMS windows type the numbers you want to send messages to, separating them with ";" E.g. 00393339329333; 00393884448337.

If the RED LED is on, on the "RECHARGE" button means that your credit is under 50 (fifty). Red Led warns you that your credit is running out and you need to buy some.

GREEN LIGHT is on, in the "RECHARGE" button, what does it mean?

If GREEN LIGHT is on, on the "RECHARGE" button means your credits are more than 50 (fifty). You can call all countries as you have credits available.

When credits are under 50 (fifty) Led will turn to Red and you need to buy some credits.

Can I transfer my VideoPhone credits to another user?

YES! You can transfer you VideoPhone credits to another user. TO transfer credits click on "RECHARGE" button on your VideoPhone.

Your account webpage will be displayed and find the "Transfer Credits" option. Follow the instructions and quickly you will transfer all your credits or a part of them to the indicated user.

How do I add and user to a conference call?

Click on the "MULTI" button on your VideoPhone. A "Meeting" page will be displayed where you can type in the number of the person to add. You can add and talk up to 4 people. Click on the button with the three red men if you want to connect two people in the conference call.

How do I place an international call?

Calling the international numbers with Videophone is as easy as calling from a landline phone.
All the international calls require three steps:
IDD + International Country Code + Telephone Number.

If I log on from another computer will I be able to display my contacts?

I forgot my Password, what can I do?

If you forgot you password enter the www.videophone4g.com, click on the "Members Area" and then on "Did you forget your data?". Type in your email and you VideoPhone number.

VideoPhone central system will send you an email with you password and all the information to log in.
